Our Story & Our Purpose
Founded on the belief that thoughtful surroundings and attentive care belong together, Thana Rest has grown into a community where residents find both comfort and connection.
← Back to HomeBuilt Around People, Not Procedures
Thana Rest was established in Bangkok's Chatuchak district with a straightforward intention: to create a residential care setting where older adults could live with dignity and genuine warmth, rather than merely receive managed services.
The founders had observed that many care facilities — however competent clinically — struggled to feel like home. Staff rotated frequently, routines were rigid, and residents often found themselves accommodating the institution rather than the other way around. Thana Rest was started as a deliberate alternative.
Over time, the community has grown through personal recommendations from families who found that the approach actually matched the description. Residents range from self-sufficient individuals who simply appreciate the reassurance of a well-organised community, to those who need close nursing attention throughout the day and night.
Our Mission
To provide residential care that honours the individuality of each person — attentive where attention is needed, unobtrusive where independence is valued.
Our Vision
A community in which residents feel genuinely at home, families feel genuinely informed, and staff feel genuinely valued — all three together, not one at the expense of another.
Our Values
Respect for the individual. Consistency in care. Openness with families. Calmness under pressure. A preference for listening before acting.
Our Core Team
A small group of long-standing professionals who collectively shape the character of daily life at Thana Rest.
Sunisa Pattanasri
Community Director
Sunisa oversees community operations and holds regular conversations with residents and families to ensure standards remain grounded in the people they serve.
Nattaporn Thanakit
Head of Nursing
A registered nurse with a background in geriatric care, Nattaporn leads the clinical team and coordinates each resident's nursing plan with both internal staff and visiting specialists.
Kanya Wichitrathon
Family Liaison Coordinator
Kanya serves as the primary point of contact for families, ensuring that communication remains consistent, clear, and considerate of the concerns family members carry.
Standards That Shape Daily Life
The standards we hold ourselves to are practical ones — not written for a brochure but lived in how we schedule care, communicate, and maintain the environment.
Nursing Staff Continuity
We prioritise long-term employment and low turnover so residents are cared for by people they recognise and have developed a rapport with over time.
Individualised Care Plans
Each resident's care plan is prepared at the point of admission and reviewed on a scheduled basis — adjusted in consultation with the resident, family, and clinical team.
Medication Safety Protocol
All medications are dispensed by nursing staff according to documented schedules, with double-verification procedures in place for high-risk treatments.
Privacy & Data Protection
Resident health records and personal information are maintained securely and shared only with authorised care team members and designated family contacts.
Regular Family Communication
Families receive scheduled updates and can reach the family liaison coordinator directly. Significant changes in a resident's condition are communicated promptly.
Environment Maintenance
Communal spaces, gardens, and private rooms are maintained to a consistent standard — not merely cleaned, but kept in a way that retains a residential rather than institutional character.
Residential Care in Bangkok Built on Long-Term Relationships
Thana Rest occupies a considered position in Bangkok's residential care landscape: a community large enough to offer genuine amenities and round-the-clock clinical staffing, yet small enough that staff and residents know one another by name. Located on Lat Phrao Road in Chatuchak, the community sits within easy reach of Bumrungrad International Hospital and Phyathai 2 Hospital, which means specialist consultations and hospital transfers, when needed, are straightforward to arrange.
Families making decisions about residential care often find the process emotionally demanding. At Thana Rest, the approach is to slow down that process rather than accelerate it — to offer clear information, a genuine site visit, and a two-week trial period before any longer commitment is considered. The aim is that by the time a decision is made, it is a confident one made with good information rather than under pressure.
The community accommodates residents at different stages — some living quite independently, others receiving continuous nursing attention. The range reflects a belief that care needs shift over a lifetime, and that a well-designed community can adapt alongside the individuals within it rather than transferring them whenever their requirements change.
